Sea kayaking Skradin - Prvic Luka.. Our first day of sea kayaking takes us from Skradin through the channel to the open sea towards Sibenik and its archipelago.. The coastal waters of Sibenik contain an archipelago of numerous islands stretching out over 157sq km.. In this constellation of islands, only six have a permanent population that totals less than 7000 people.. Needless to say, these little islands make marvelous getaways if you're looking for rustic vacation experience.. The first destination we need to reach is the island Prvic.. The first settlers were probably recluses.. Later, in 15 century, the place became a noble seaside resort and it was inhabited by the priests of the Benedictine and the Franciscan order, who built a monastery and later the two churches.. Over time, the population grew; a dense population peak was reached in the early 20th century, when there were about 1300 people.. During the 20th century, the population has steadily declined and at the beginning of this century, came down to about two hundred.. 3*Hotel Maestral or camping option; Meals: B and D (lunch on your own); Sea kayaking: 5 h; Distance: 25 km.. 3.. It has the area of 8.. 2 sq.. kilometers and it is located 2.. 5 nautical miles from Šibenik.. Zlarin is also the only larger settlement, and the inhabitants are fishermen, sea¬men, coral divers and spongers.. The remains from the Neolithic and antiquity were discovered on the island.. The baroque parish church was built from 1735 to 1740.. Zlarin highest point is Klepac at 169 meters above sea level.. Weather - the summers are typically warm and sunny.. From May to October temperatures are comfortable for hiking, paddling, and swimming.. Rain is always a possibility in Croatia so it is essential to bring adequate rain wear and a jacket in case of inclement weather.. Mats N.. Our accommodation and meals were all together OK.. Skradinski buk hotel did not have AC working correctly and the accommodation and on Zlarin Island had no cold water, only hot.. Our guide was good but we should have been given more information in advance about the equipment needed, like dry bags and spray jackets.. Also, higher quality of equipment would increase my level of satisfaction too.. Raftrek should also update and correct their trip itinerary.. Altogether, this holiday was nice.. What I will remember the most is all the different weather conditions and how they affected us.. We had four days of good weather and two days with strong winds.. I would like to thank Branka for all the help and all the given information!.. Anna-Karin S.. Accommodation and meals were good.. What I liked was how we made picnics for lunch so we could just have it when we wanted to.. Guide was very good and friendly.. We had one very experienced group member so Borna also learned from him and absorbed his experience.. Our best memories are from the first and the last day of kayaking.. R.. S.. and M.. Accommodation and meals were actually superb, very different in each hotel we stayed in! Our guide, Borna had it all done well and was good in improvisation.. For example, when we had bed weather he was so open minded and flexible though it was a difficult situation to handle.. There was also a good organizational back up and great knowledge of Croatian culture and politics that he willingly spread so we had good discussions during the whole week.. The only thing we would mention is that it would be great if there was better knowledge about possible places for food and rest on our route.. We liked how Borna was flexible to include cultural events in the program and all the discussions we had over our evening meals.. That was so interesting.. Also, we will remember all the long breaks for rest and snorkeling.. Ulla J.. Accommodation and meals were mostly good to very good.. Our guide was very good in all the aspects, from attitude, knowledge to helpfulness and friendliness.. We give him a special plus for taken the decision to stop the paddling on the day of a strong wind.. The most memorable parts were definitely the first day when we passed the Prokljan Lake and the last one when we finally took the ferry.. Lars and Anja.. Accommodation was good and very different where ever we stayed.. We liked those expensive wines in Prvić Luka! The only bad thing was breakfast in our guesthouse on Kaprije because there was no yoghurt, cereal or juice.. Our guide was very good in all meanings, from knowledge to helpfulness.. There was a problem with lack of places for rest and picnic meals and we had problems with our equipment.. The trip was all together great and we will remember the villages and little towns that were so picturesque, the color of the water and how it was warm.. Level:.. Moderate.. Activities:.. Sea Kayaking.. Accommodation:.. 3*Hotel Skradinski Buk, 3*Hotel Maestral or camping option and Kaprij guest house.. Highlights:.. National Park Krka River, Sibenik Island archipelago and warm Adriatic Sea.. Short itinerary:.. Day 1: Arrival day.. Day 2: Sea kayaking Prvic Luka.. Day 3: Sea kayaking Zlarin.. Anna H.. Regarding the accommodation, our room was small but the bed and the shower were excellent.. Air conditioning was not working at all times but the dinner on the terrace was lovely.. We had excellent variety and quality of food and I was very happy that the hotel provided me vegetarian meals.. Also, I liked that we were able to choose what we wanted for dinner each morning after breakfast.. Our guide, Tino, was great.. He even let us make some of the decisions so we felt like we all created an adventure together rather than just following instructions.. Tino always supported anyone who was struggling with any activity to make sure they were enjoying.. Also, if there were other guides accompanying us for a short time they were very friendly too.. We felt very safe and well cared for at all times.. Simple things, like Tino asking about his driving and the quality of equipment we used made the trip a great one.. I would also like to thank Branka in the office for all the help and instructions and information prior to booking the trip.. The only thing I would change is the possibility of having dinner in one of the city’s we visited instead of always rushing back to our hotel for dinner.. Zrmanja River, NP Krka and Paklenica were the places I would like to visit again!.. G.. Greenwood.. My accommodation was comfortable and good, I was glad to get a balcony and the hosts were lovely.. Meals were good but a bit repetitive.. Guide was OK.. Joking! I loved him; he had a very positive attitude and managed the group very well! The hotel was excellent and the hosts were very friendly and helpful.. There is nothing we would change about our accommodation.. The guides were both excellent, very friendly and knowledgeable so we felt safe with them at all times.. Tino was great with the kids and Borna was so knowledgeable about everything.. They were a great team.. Everything was perfect and I wouldn’t change anything.. We all loved river kayaking and rafting trips and we really enjoyed hiking up the mountain.. Both of our guides worked hard to make sure we were safe and had a fantastic time.. Nothing was too much trouble for them.. Thank you so much – we had the best holiday EVER!!.. Ivona M.. The lakes are surrounded by beech and pine forests and are home to extensive wildlife.. We enjoy a picnic lunch along the trail.. Later in the afternoon we return to Korana village in time to enjoy a swim in the clear river just in front of your guest house.. Korana village private guest house; Meals: B and D (lunch on your own); hiking: 5-6 hours; Terrain: easy, well-marked paths.. This walking adventure is intended for those who want to experience a different type of walking, since it includes the most famous, and one of the most beautiful trekking paths - the Premuzic path.. Velebit is known for its unusual diversity of plant and animal life, wealth of forests, canyons, cliffs and caves that delight visitors.. Besides all the afore-mentioned, Velebit is also home to one of the most famous Croatian endemic species, Velebitska degenija.. Due to its magnificence, it’s considered as a national Croatian symbol and as such is mentioned in numerous songs, stories and legends.. It is characterized by an elongated shape with steep sides.. On our way there are several points that open up a view towards the Adriatic archipelago, the path is drawn so that there aren’t any big climbs so it is pleasant for walking, passing through dense forest of old pine, fir and beech.. We finish up our day with a drive towards our next destination, Novigrad, a  ...   own).. Weather - The summers are typically warm and sunny.. Hadda B.. Accommodation and food were good and hosts were very nice.. The guides were 100% perfect.. We were 100% satisfied with the tour and would not want to change anything about it.. It exceeded our expectations.. All the days were perfect, a nice mixture of activities, but the rafting trip stood out.. It was nice to meet local people and try Croatian cuisine.. Sally P.. Accommodation was clean and comfortable and rooms had everything that I had expected.. The hosts were friendly and helpful.. Meals were good, always with a good choice of hot and cold food for breakfast and a plentiful dinner.. Our guide was a great travelling companion! He was organized and communicative.. We talked about the plans for the next day each evening and about the history of the towns and places we visited.. We also talked about our love towards the outdoors and nature.. The program was busy and we visited very different places, all of which were as good as or even better than I had hoped.. Trip to Paklenica was tough, I felt tired but it was a great sense of achievement.. Peter P.. Accommodation was clean and tidy and the hosts were helpful and friendly.. Meals were good with interesting menus.. There was absolutely no problems during the week, everything was well organized and went smoothly.. Our guide had a great command of English and dealt with us with professionalism.. The National Parks were very interesting and memorable.. Ian and Brenda.. Accommodation in hotels was good, however last night accommodation was not as expected.. We should have been at a 3* hotel but we were accommodated in an apartment without facilities.. Our hosts were helpful and friendly.. Regarding breakfast, meals were good but only just enough various.. We had an excellent lunch on a boat trip to Kornati Islands and there was a high standard and good variety food for dinner.. Our guide, Marko was an extremely good representative for the company.. He is very pleasant and well organized and has a great knowledge in every aspect of guiding.. He was very caring and considerate to his clients what made this one of our best holidays.. Our holiday has been a fabulous adventure and the scenery has been stunning, especially Plitvice Lakes and Krka River with its wonderful lakes and waterfalls.. Paklenica was also a great experience.. Lyn W.. Accommodation was excellent with excellent locations and the hosts were very nice! Meals were good everywhere we go.. Dinner was excellent and we enjoyed eating in the open air when we had picnics for lunch.. Guides were super excellent! They had incredible knowledge about a huge range of things.. Also, they were very helpful, friendly, flexible and a good fun.. We were very impressed with Raftrek organization, from booking onwards.. The only thing we would change is the last day when instead of a free day we would have liked a last walk, since it was a walking trip.. It felt almost as if Raftrek had run out of ideas for walks.. Nevertheless, our trip to Trogir was wonderful.. The most memorable and exciting parts of the week were North Velebit trail hiking and lunch on Krka River, the prosciutto and chees.. It was a wonderful holiday!.. Paul and Beryl.. Accommodation was uncomfortable but had a good location.. Our hosts were lovely people.. Meals were always good but if we could suggest something it would be to offer two nights of *free evenings* during the trip so that we could choose some other place to eat because of the limited hotel menus.. Guides were charming, encouraging and had good sense of humor.. They were proud of Croatia and were great to be with.. We would never have seen so much without them around.. They were friendly, helpful, considerate and good.. We would recommend both of them, Borna and Ilija.. We could describe our holiday as a stress free with a lot of outdoor places we would not have managed to see ourselves.. Thanks for a great holiday!.. Trekking.. 3* Hotels and private guest houses.. Five National Parks of Croatia, Split and Trogir UNESCO sightseeing and traditional Croatian cuisine.. Day 2: Walking Plitvice Lakes.. Day 3: Trekking North Velebit.. Day 4: Trekking NP Paklenica..
